Putian: Compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Straits pay tribute to Mazu love

During the Lantern Festival, compatriots from both sides of the Taiwan Straits gather at Meizhou Island in Putian city to celebrate the Lantern Festival with Mazu.People on both sides of the Straits worship Mazu, eat glutinous rice balls and build bonfires, demonstrating the deep affection of “one family on both sides of the Straits”.Lin Jinzan, vice president of Chinese Mazu Cultural Exchange Association and Chairman of The Board of Directors of Meizhou Mazu Ancestral Temple, invited 15 Taiwan compatriots including Chen Qinghong, vice Chairman of Huangsheng Palace, Fuxing Township, Changhua County, Taiwan, to attend a dinner party at Mazu Academy of Tianfei’s Hometown Ruins Park.Compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Straits sit together, enjoy the meaning of peace mazu face and meaning reunion of tangyuan, with the word Mazu, celebrate the Lantern Festival.During the event, yuanxiao folk performance was also held in the ruins park of tianfei’s hometown.The wonderful performances and the jubilant atmosphere of yuanxiao immersed Taiwan villagers.In the melodious melody of “We are All One Family”, compatriots on both sides of the straits around the campfire, holding hands and dancing, the atmosphere to the climax.”Seeing many familiar folk activities, I feel very intimate, just like playing Lantern Festival in Taiwan.”Wang Shuhua, from Yilan, Taiwan Province, has been in the mainland for more than 20 years.
